Brian Solemsaas

2011: This is Coach Solemsaas's first year working with the Bismarck American Legion and Senior Babe Ruth baseball teams. His primary responsibility this summer is as an Assistant Coach for Bismarck's 16-18 year old baseball teams. "Sauce" will work with the pitchers and infielders.

Before BGovs: Coach Solemsaas was a member of the Upper Iowa University baseball team from 2004-2009. During his playing days for the Peacocks, Sauce earned NSIC Academic All-Conference, 2nd Team All-Conference and Men's Honor Student-Athlete honors. He served as Team Captain his senior year. Off the field, Sauce served terms as Vice-President and President of UIU's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) and was a Student Leader for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA). He was also the Make-A-Wish Events Coordinator his senior year. Solemsaas played for the Bismarck Governors in 2003-2005. The BGovs were the State Runner-up in 2005 and placed 3rd at the State Tournament in 2003 and 2004. A graduate of Bismarck High School, Solemsaas was a member of the Demon baseball team that won the North Dakota State Class "A" Baseball Championship in 2003.

Off the field: Coach Solemsaas earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Wellness/Fitness from Upper Iowa and recently received his Master of Science degree in Education/Kinesiology from Southern Illinois. Solemsaas just finished his second year as a Volunteer Assistant for the SIU baseball team.
