Minot State University will be hosting a baseball clinic at the MSU Dome Sat., Dec. 11.

 

The clinic runs from noon-5 p.m. and is open to any player currently in grades 9-12. The clinic will cost $75 per participant and each participant will receive a Minot State baseball t-shirt upon arrival for the clinic.

 

There will be instruction for all aspects of the game: Hitting, pitching, all defensive positions and base running. There will also be an hour question-and-answer session for coaches involved in the game at 5 p.m. This section of the camp will help coaches pick up information about the overall game to incorporate into their own team.

TWO PRE-SEASON OPPORTUNITIES:

Option One: Weekly Hitting/Pitching Instruction


Instructors:

  • Matt Power, Bismarck High School Head Baseball Coach

  • Andy Leer, 2010 Minnesota Twins draft choice

Information:

  • Weekly pre-season hitting/pitching/fielding lessons

  • Ages 12+

  • Sessions are one hour and are one day per week (Tuesday/Thursday nights, Saturday mornings)

  • $20/session (or $80/month)

  • If interested in doing both hitting and pitching (2 sessions per week), it will be $150/month (save $10)

  • Beginning date is scheduled for November 18, 2010!

Option Two: Six Month Training Program

  • Healthways is beginning a six month baseball training program (beginning November 2, 2010). The program, coordinated by Mike Salwei, Coach Power, and Minnesota Twins Minor League Top Prospect Andy Leer, will consist of strength/speed training and hitting lessons. The first 3 1/2 months will be two days per week of strength training and one day of hitting/pitching/fielding work. The last 2 1/2 months will be two days per week of baseball work and 1 day of strength training.
